And as we gradually return to play, we are now able to host events for all. The coming few weeks will see an array of events being held, for which we will need your help. Now whether you're an old hand at club volunteering or never tried, can only spare an hour (or two) or the whole day, we welcome you all. It's a great way to meet different members of the club. Below is the list of events to date for which we will need help. Simply mail the contact and say if you can help out and how long for and the event organiser will draw up a rota. And if you're not sure what a role entails, just ask away

Get your kit order in now. Simply go to https://www.epic-orange.com/teammk/ and then type in the password Summer2021. The order window is closing soon (19th April), so don't delay. The club does not keep a general stock of clothing but manages most clothing via order windows using a club clothing page via Epic Orange who are our main supplier for kit. Orders placed during the window should then arrive six weeks from the end of the window – probably the first week in June. Deciding what size you need is clearly very important and Epic provide very detailed measurements and diagrams to help you. We have also bought some sample stock that we have been making available for members to try on. Dates have been advertised for try-on sessions at Bodylimits, Newport Pagnell.

Don't forget that the club survey for all members aged over 18 will close this coming Sunday (11th April) at 10 p.m. If you've not had the opportunity to fill this in yet, then please do. We want to know what you think. Details and the link to the survey can be found here:

Not long now until our first Monday evening club 10 time trials which start on 26th April 2021 on the Nash course. Full details of how to enter and about the course will be published soon on the club website. There are some key features of how we run the event which we developed last summer and seemed to work well:
- We have an event Covid risk assessment based on CTT guidelines that are designed to minimise risks to all involved
- Entry will only be allowed online before the event with arrangements to pay either on line or by cash at the event. £4.00 for members and under   18s, £6.00 for non-members
- One change is that we will allow block payments so you can buy 5 entries for either £20 for members or £30 for non-members
- Bib Numbers – we will issue bib numbers for the season which you will be allocated and pick up at your first event. Start order sheets will be   emailed out to everyone before the event
- Live results – last year Jon Hunt successfully trialled his live reporting app so competitors can follow results on the night before they are published

Full details will be published – hope we see many of you at the events. If you have never entered a time trial before then why not come and have a go – you don’t need a time-trial bike to enter.

The club finances during the pandemic period have been affected in various ways. In normal times we manage to gain some income from small surpluses from running events which have of course not happened in the last twelve months apart from the club 10 time-trials last summer and the youth races at the bowl in the autumn. The other impact has been with membership income which will be reduced this year as we extended membership periods to take account of the lack of club activity and our take up of new members has been down. Nevertheless, our general level of funding has remained stable as our outgoings have also been reduced. In some years we have spent considerable sums on coach training courses which are essential to be able to maintain the level of cycling and triathlon coaches. We have made a couple of purchases this year including buying the Green Hut at the MK Bowl for £900 which is great as this gives us more space for our equipment. We are of course planning to run more events in 2021 so would hope to build up some reserves again.
